Kelly came to visit!

Kelly Ross, one of my very best friends from High School came to visit me from New York City. It was a quick 3 day trip- went by WAY too fast. We did so many fun things... Champs Elysees, Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, shopping on Rue Saint Honore, mid day dessert and drink at Angelina's, explored The Ritz Hotel, wine in the park, full on French dinner, lots of French bakery stops for Palmiers and croissants, Versailles, Jimmy Buffet Concert, pizza in the Champs de Mars, watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle, cocktail at the Ritz bar (30 euro drinks!). We had so much fun I am so sad she is gone!

Tyler's birthday!

Tyler's birthday was on September 21st! I tried really hard to make it special since we are away from all our friends and family. The night before I made him a big Fajitas dinner. Our sweet friend from Texas, Carolyn, brought us Velveeta cheese so we could make some queso and some Mexican seasonings (you cannot get any of that stuff here). Tyler was super excited! Then on his birthday I woke him up with a big breakfast and all his gifts. That night we went out to a fun and yummy dinner. I am pretty positive he had a great 25th birthday!

Ray Lamontagne Concert

This past week we went to another concert with Mike and Crystal to see Ray Lamontagne. I think he might be my ALL TIME FAVORITE musician. He is awesome! I wish I had pictures from inside the concert- but they took my camera from me and forced me to check it. I was not happy. But here are a few of all of us standing outside the theater he played in.

Fleet Foxes Concert!

We went to a Fleet Foxes Concert last week with 2 of our great friends who live here in Paris- Mike and Crystal. Great concert!

I have a confession...

So.. Tyler, Carolyn and I hit the town on Thursday night. We went to a fun dinner and then went and had some Sangria wine. On our walk home I decided I really wanted a baguette and we could not find an open bakery at that time of day. So Tyler (being the amazing husband he is) spotted an untouched loaf of bread left at a table. You could tell the people were gone because their wine glasses were empty and the check was paid. Well, he grabbed it and hid it in his jacket until we got around the corner and then I ate the ENTIRE thing. I was so full of bread when I got into bed- I just passed out.

Miss Carolyn Taylor!

Carolyn Taylor is one of our dear friends from Austin. She was in town for a week with her family. Below are a few pictures from a few of our outings together. We miss you Carolyn!

If anyone needs an AWESOME hairdresser in Austin you should contact me and I will give you Carolyn's info. She is the best! Just about everyone I know in Austin goes to her and loves her.

Going to dinner with Carolyn and per super cool parents!

Having a great time at the Sangria wine bar.

Tyler being silly. We felt like we were in a cave at this bar.

The French Country Side- Champagne, France (Part 4)

This is the amazing little Bed & Breakfast we stayed at in Champagne. There were only 4 rooms and it was owned by a couple in their late 70's who were originally from America. When we woke up they had breakfast waiting for us and lots of coffee. Abby and I woke up before Robert and Tyler and I think we sat and chatted with the old couple for about 2 hours until finally the boys came down. They were so cute and sweet.

All of the rooms had twill and check patterns. I felt like it was right out of a French Country Living Magazine.

I honestly do not think I have been to another place in my life that was more quiet than here. We would just sit out of the back patio and drink wine and listen to the crickets and owls. It was so peaceful and quaint.

The Renaudin Champagne House! Tyler's family is a direct decedent of the Renaudin family that makes champagne in France.

The French Country Side- Champagne, France (Part 2)

Here are a few pictures of some of the vineyards we drove through to give you a taste of how beautiful it was. We were able to eat lots of the champagne grapes.

The French Country Side- Champagne, France (Part 1)

While Robert and Abby were visiting we took a 2 day trip to the Champagne region. This is where every bottle of champagne in the world is produced. If it is not from Champagne, France it is called sparkling wine. We rented a car in Paris and drove about an hour and a half to Champagne where we drove through thousands of vineyards and took a tour of Moet Chandon, the biggest champagne maker in the world that also makes Dom Perignon. We could not believe how beautiful it was.

Stay tuned for more about our trip to Champagne!!
