Cinque Terre, Italy!

Tyler and I just returned from Cinque Terre in Italy. Cinque Terre is a beautiful mountainous portion of the Italian Riviera. The name literally translates to “Five Lands” because it is made up of five villages, Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Over hundreds of years paths to connect the villages have been built and we were able to hike between all 5. Paths, trains and boats connect the 5 villages, and cars cannot reach it from the outside.

We flew from Paris to Milan and then took a 3 hour train to Monterosso. It took a while to get there, but it was worth it. We spent our first 2 nights in Vernazza and then the last night in Monterosso.

We had just arrived!

This is just a small part of the uphill path to our hotel room. It was a work out for sure.

Town of Vernazza.

This was our favorite place to read, relax and have some wine. It is a patio on top of the hotel that looks out over the ocean.

Enjoying some Italian wine on the patio before dinner.

Poor Tyler got stung by a small jelly fish when we went kayaking.

The waster was SO clear.

This is Hotel Porto Roca, where we stayed in Monterosso. It was wonderful!

View from our hotel room

We hiked all 5 of the small towns. It was hard but beautiful.

While hiking along the trail there was a man who was making fresh lemonade. It tasted so good since we were sweaty and tired.

Enjoying our Pina Colada's on the beach.

The focaccia bread and fruit salads in Cinque Terre was so yummy.

We were not ready to leave!
